Today was the 1st day of school. How can it be that I’m already 3 weeks behind?! I mean really, that’s what teaching is like too often these days! How do we explain that?

All I can say is, “Amen.” I’m on my 10th day and it’s becoming apparent that this year will be just as all-consuming as ever, though I honestly do try harder and harder every year to get a life outside of teaching. Our friends say we are workaholics, just without the glamour of the six-figure salary to go with it. I think the job is just never finished and because we care, we keep attempting it. Let us find a balance, Grasshopper. 😉
